You are invited to the 12th Annual Public Health & Safety Fair, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 21 at Arrowhead Stadium Founders’ Plaza.
Sponsored by Missouri Sen. S. Kiki Curls, this event is free and open to all.
The purpose of the event is to reduce health disparities in the African-American community by providing access to resources.
The event will feature more than 150 vendors providing information on health care, nutrition, exercise and all aspects of healthy living.
Demonstrations will include bicycle safety training and courses in car and booster seat installation. Healthcare stations will offer a variety of services like diabetes and blood pressure screenings and dental and eye checks.
Last year, more than 3,000 people participated in the event. This year, program partners are the Kansas City Police Department, Truman Medical Centers, the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority, the Black Health Care Coalition and the Kansas City Chiefs.
Swope Health Services will be at the event, offering information on our services.
If you need transportation to the event, the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority will provide free transportation from several pick-up points. See the Health & Safety Website for details.
