I am uninsured and have a low income. Do you offer any payment assistance?

We provide services to uninsured individuals with low income on a sliding-fee scale. In order for us to determine your eligibility, arrive 30 minutes before your appointment. Bring with you one of the following:

• Current proof of income
• Unemployment determination letter
• Notarized financial statement and a piece of mail with your current address postmarked within 10 days

Your discounts will be based on your income and family size.

I am in pain and need to see a dentist right away. What should I do?

Monday through Friday, Swope Health Central dental staff can serve on average about 5 or 6 emergency patients daily. Doors open at 8 a.m. Patients are served on a first-come basis. At 8:30 a.m., dental staff will triage based on arrival time and severity of pain/symptoms.

Can Swope Health Services staff provide free health screenings at our event?

As a nonprofit healthcare provider serving the uninsured and underinsured, we understand the importance of access to health screenings. However, we do not have the resources to provide screenings such as blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, vision, and dental to all the community and church organizations that request them.

We offer free health screenings at several health fairs throughout the year in our main facility, Swope Health Central, located at 3801 Blue Parkway in Kansas City, Missouri. Check our website regularly for health fair schedules. Be sure to notify members of your church or organization about these opportunities.

Does Swope Health Services provide advanced practice nursing students with preceptors and opportunities to work in a clinical setting?

We do not currently offer this service.
